Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Millwright / Shop Technician is responsible for performing repair services, assembly services on hydraulic and mechanical components and systems in support of the overall business plan and the strategic direction of the company.  This position will be actively involved in all daily activities related to growing Mechanical Repair and Fluid Power business in our Kamloops location

Responsibilities

  • System Troubleshooting both in shop and field setting

  • Gearbox and mechanical system repair

  • Complete work and test reports according to quality systems and procedures.

  • Perform repair services to the OEM standards and customer requirements

  • Ensure adherence to quoted and specified scope of work, component supply and customer requirements

  • Failure analysis, condition reporting. 

  • Make recommendations for scope of work and product and system improvements.

  • Painting, cleaning, other general shop duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Highly skilled technical and mechanical ability with proficiency in use of all hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and performance testing equipment associated with hydraulic service, manufacture and installation

  • Experience repairing industrial gearboxes and mechanical systems.

  • The ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers and internal personnel.

  • Versatility and willingness to learn new methods and product to suit changing technology and customer demands as required.

  • Have own supply of common hand tools for completing job function

  • Millwright or heavy duty mechanic training an asset

  • Field Service experience

  • Organize and work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work safely, lead by example and contribute  to overall company safety

  • Machining and Welding experience will be considered an asset
