Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution and shop facilities located throughout Canada. We currently have an immediate opening for a full time Shop Foreman in our Winnipeg, MBshop location.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a safe manner, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety

  • Be responsible for all shop operations to ensure work is completed safely

  • Provide technical direction and support for other shop workers for daily tasks

  • Participation in hiring, training, developing, and performance managing associates

  • Recognize and reward employee strengths through delegation of certain tasks.

  • Participate in the establishment of individualized performance goals and development action plans.

  • Measure progress of work; instruct, and assist associates as to procedures, standards of performance/ work, and maintain morale.

  • Together with the service administrators plan and schedule jobs

  • Monitor shop supplies and consumables

  • First point of contact for workers in the shop

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal customer and subordinates

  • Continuous improvement. Take a leadership roll in optimizing jobs through the shop

  • Complete failure analysis, documentation and quality measurements required to properly evaluate components required to complete repairs.

  • Mentor and instruct team members to develop skills associated with mechanical repair

  • Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied's extensive customer base

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright Certification (Alberta) or Red Seal Interprovincial Certification preferred.

  • IFPS certification preferred

  • Strong working experience in a rotating equipment maintenance and repair

  • Strong working experience in a hydraulic equipment maintenance and repair

  • Service orientated with exposure to quality assurance and quality control.

  • Ability to read, interpret and apply codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.

  • Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and ERP software (SAP preferred).

  • Ability to prioritize and number of tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured deadlines.

  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and strong root cause analysis skill.

  • Ability to use both written and verbal skills to effectively communicate technical information.
