
Description
The Tax Analyst position will be primarily responsible for supporting the Indirect Tax Compliance function with the coordination, facilitation and completion of assigned tasks related to sales & use tax compliance to ensure that Applied maintains compliance for all sales and use tax jurisdictions.
The role will require communicating with various departments within the company to gather required information for sales tax return filing as well as analyzing the information obtained and preparing remittances each period. Candidates should possess research skills using state websites, sales tax newsletters, and research software. The position will require the ability to effectively communicate and explain information taxing jurisdictions as well as internal business partners and external customers as needed.
What You Will Do
- Performs data retrieval and analysis to prepare accruals and process data to prepare for the next period filing.
- Account Reconciliations
- Manages workflow to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely manner to reduce any financial risk to the company.
- Maintain current processes as well as automate processes within the sales tax department.
- Research and analyze supporting documents and other details for accounting transactions and entries for Indirect Tax compliance functions.
- Communicates effectively within the team, across other functions, and with external parties to ensure alignment.
- Use tax assessments
- Audit support
- Provide support to the income tax department
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Sales & Use Tax experience, preferred
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS office programs (Excel & Word) and experience obtaining large data from various sources.
- Vertex & SAP experience a plus
