The DES, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Outreach Coordinator/Tribal Liaison. This position is responsible for providing outreach and tribal initiatives to diverse audiences regarding the services provided through DCSS.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide child support resources, information and education to the public and various stakeholders on services provided through DCSS.
- Collaborate with staff, community organizations, and tribes statewide on new and recurring community engagements.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with tribal community organizations.
- Provide outreach and information at correctional facilities to incarcerated individuals, both in person and in virtual settings.
- Complete routine review of child support cases and provide follow up to requesting case-related parties.
- Prepare a variety of technical and administrative reports; prepare agency-related periodicals, pamphlets and newsletters for community relations.
- Determine program feasibility and goals for community outreach.

This position has heavy public contact and travels to various locations in the State of Arizona to carry out the objectives and goals of the agency. Work hours for this position vary and include early mornings, nights and weekends when needed. The incumbent must be flexible.

Knowledge in:
- Social services.
- Identifying needs and communicating to diverse groups.
- Customer service techniques and procedures in order to assist internal and external customers.

Skills in:
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse groups.
- Developing and utilizing resources and materials.
- Organizing, coordinating, planning and implementing outreach-related activities.
- Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.

Ability to:
- Learn Federal, State and agency laws, rules and policies governing child support enforcement.
- Prioritize; multi-task; schedule effectively.
- Work independently with established guidelines and follow set policies and procedures as related to job duties to ensure timeliness, data reliability and accuracy.
- Work weekends or nights when needed; work a rotating shift when needed.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A minimum of one (1) year of social services experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business; the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
