The VP & General Manager – Midwest will act as the leading executive for Applied Automation's business, Automation, Inc in the Midwest. This position provides oversight for currently existing offices, in all business aspects (Sales, Marketing, Applications, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service. This role will also sit on the broader Applied Automation leadership team, collaborating with other regional and national Automation leaders and key core suppliers to plan, develop and execute aggressive organic expansions in the region, along with potential expansion in adjoining regions. This position will be expected to model AIT's core values, with excellent communication skills and keen thinking about the marketplace we serve.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide strategic oversight to the Automation, Inc & R.R. Floody leadership teams
- Collaborate with platform level resources on Sales (selling process, supplier relationships), Marketing (programs and messaging), HR, IT, Finance & Accounting to align regional goals with overall team objectives
- Collaborate with overlapping AIT service centers and subsidiary businesses to achieve outsized “cross-selling” outcomes
- Lead the Automation, Inc & R.R. Floody teams to world-class performance in Sales, Customer Support, Profitability and Operations execution, leading us to achieve the vision of being our customers “Trusted Partner” for industrial automation
- Develop the skills and abilities of the team so that future leadership positions are frequently filled from within
- Deliver on customer, supplier, quality and financial commitments
Education / Work Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 10+ years in progressive sales, operations or technical support roles for industrial products
- Well-crafted capability to prioritize tasks and execute on the most impactful to achieve required business outcomes
- Demonstrated experience developing a team and delivering on commitments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Extensive exposure as a seller, builder or user of industrial automation solutions
- Degree or relevant work experience in an Engineering discipline
- Experience leading a business in utilizing a review process to reach desired outcomes
