Description
Summary of Position:
This position assists with patient care flow and activities which support the department's clinical functions. The Medical Imaging Aide ensures safe and efficient transport of patients to and from the Medical Imaging department and to other hospital departments. This position will also assist in patient comfort, communication on site, and preparing rooms between patients.
Qualifications
Education:
• High School education or GED preferred
Experience:
Previous experience working in a hospital setting highly preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Professional patient service skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Medical terminology and/or medical experience preferred
• Ability to read and communicate in English, bilingual abilities preferred
Certifications/Licensure:
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required

Essential Functions
1. Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.
2. Assists with patient comfort, including providing pillows and blankets for the patient as needed.
3. Transporting patients to and from departments for medical imaging procedures. This would also include assisting/escorting patients to/from the hospital entrances/exits or other departments for continuum of care if they need assistance.
4. Updates patients and visitors regarding their wait times for procedures
5. Answers and directs phone calls in a professional manner in regard to transferring calls and taking messages.
6. Assists with stocking roomswith supplies, linens, etc.
7. Assists techs with preparing rooms for patients
8. Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
