General Maintenance & Lawn Care
Job Summary:
Bassett Furniture is seeking a General Maintenance & Lawn Care Technician for our Martinsville and Bassett manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. The Maintenance and Lawn Care worker will perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment, buildings, and grounds at our manufacturing locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
· Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
· Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, repairing doors as well as other building fixtures.
· Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
· Assist with upkeep of facilities including mowing, mulching, and general landscaping.
· Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Identify and report any unsafe conditions.
· Perform other related duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
· Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Skill in safe operation of equipment such as mowers, UTVs and vehicles.
· Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Related experience preferred.
· On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods standing and walking.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
