Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Nursing Instructor in the Nursing Department. 

Salary Range for this position is $111,738 to $137,996 annually (depending on experience).

Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin January 22nd, 2026. 

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Dean.  This a 9-month, full-time, tenure track faculty position in the nursing program at the Seattle Colleges: South Seattle College, Seattle Central College, and North Seattle College. The nursing program includes the current ADN program and a planned RN to BSN program. The instructor will provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. This position reports to and is supervised by the Dean of Nursing and the Associate Dean of Nursing. Nursing courses may be taught at any of the Seattle Colleges District campuses within the Seattle area.

This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed. This position works across the nursing district program at all 3 locations. North Seattle, South Seattle and the Health Education Center. 

This position works 100% of the time on-site.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT.

What you will be working on:

  • Teach Associate Degree Nursing and future Bachelor of Science Nursing didactic, laboratory skills, and clinical courses
  • Document student skills/learning and submit required documents and grades.
  • Creating lesson plans that accomplish predefined learning goals
  • Teaching classroom-based courses through lectures and discussions
  • Demonstrating techniques and best practices for students
  • Overseeing clinical practice components of nurse education and training programs
  • Helping to develop curriculum for nurse training programs in cooperation with other faculty or directors of nursing
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest advances in medicine and changes to best practice standards for patient care
  • Work cooperatively as a team member with the Dean of Nursing, Associate Dean of Nursing, other nursing program faculty, staff, college and district faculty and staff.
  • Be actively involved in continuous program improvement with nursing program faculty and staff, meeting all accreditation (ACEN and CCNE), WABON, college, and district requirements.
  • Be actively involved in major college and district committees and initiatives.
  • Continuously improve nursing and teaching knowledge and skills; take advantage of professional development opportunities.
  • Meet all professional obligations and all other provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • Master's degree in nursing with a current unencumbered Washington State RN License
  • Minimum three years of experience in nursing
  • Experience and versatility in one or more of the following specialties:
  • Mental Health 
  • Pediatrics 
  • Medical Surgical
  • Simulation Certification Preferred
  • Geriatrics
