North Seattle College is looking to hire a Student Media Center Coordinator in the Media Center.

The pay range for this position is $21.51 - $27.96 hourly (DOE)
This is a part-time position that will be required to work no more than 16 hours per week.
Position Summary
The Student Media Center (SMC) Program Coordinator position is a classified position that reports directly to the SMC Program Manager. This position coordinates all activities of the SMC operation, including assisting students with media projects, providing media equipment and materials, maintaining media equipment, setting up equipment, and scheduling and operating the SMC studios.
The SMC Program Coordinator navigates and communicates media services, resources, and policies to students and faculty/staff. This position also promotes SMC services and produces promotional materials.
This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
This position works: 100% of the time on-site.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What you will be working on:
- Assist and instruct students on how to integrate media resources into their media production projects including visual aids, presentation, recording, and studio use
- Provide computer technology assistance related to student media projects
- Provide media equipment, lending services, and technical advice to students
- Navigate and communicate media services, resources, and policies to students, and to faculty/staff as appropriate
- Promote SMC services and produce promotional materials including SMC tours, SMC resources workshops, and visiting classes
- Operate SMC services independently as needed
- Assist in improving SMC services, work processes, and spaces
- Assist in searching technology updates to improve media production resources and services
- Send tickets to the IT helpdesk as needed when media technology issues occur for SMC services
- Collect and enter daily service records for use in budget request and service improvement
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating media equipment records and catalogs
- Develop media production guidelines including basic software and studio use for students
- Asist with training new student/hourly staff and may direct the work of others as needed
- Perform related duties as required

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- Media technology skills/experience including Adobe software and DSLR camera
- Intermediate computer skills/experience
- Assisting/helping students
- Excellent customer service skills/experience, both in-person and remote services
- Remote technology skills/experience, for example, video conference software, live chat, and remote phone operation
- Media literacy skills/experience including visual design and copyright (preferred)
- Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, pay attention to details, multitask, and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Demonstrate a proactive work attitude and work ethic including punctuality
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patron information
- Be available Monday ¿ Thursday, during 9 am ¿ 4 pm (preferred)
- Currently enrolled NSC student (preferred)
