BMC AMI Ops and Security Product Management are responsible for managing a portfolio of over $350m annual recurring revenue. We are currently seeking to strengthen our delivery capabilities by on boarding addition product management talent to support the existing team.

As an Inbound Product Manager you will be instrumental in supporting the Outbound Product Manager in delivering the strategic roadmap for the Product Portfolio and have both product development and BAU responsibilities. The AMI Ops portfolio is functional rich but requires additional business use cases to continue to delight and support our customer base. You would be required to become familiar with the operational requirements of our customers and then apply that knowledge to the creation of new features that support them. In addition, you will liaise closely with the BMC VSE teams to ensure that current feedback from customers is incorporated into the products. You will be focused on defining product backlog. You will build a product backlog from product management requirements and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must enjoy spending time with customers to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for real-world use cases. You must be able to break use cases into features and be able to prioritize them correctly. These roles would ideally suit someone with relevant knowledge of the products who can bring their current experience to the role. You will have a strong desire to help shape the next generation of tools for managing, automating and protecting our customers critical infrastructure. Strong analytical, project management and execution skills will be essential.
Job Responsibilities:
  • You would need to manage the product backlog and specifying detailed requirements as user stories details & acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with the Outbound Product Manager on the product roadmap and develop use cases into features for R&D to develop and deliver
  • Work closely with the R&D team leads and UX designers to develop the detailed requirements and corresponding UX mock-ups.
  • You along with the team must be involved in release planning while taking ownership of items planned for the release
  • Be an active scrum team/Kanban member responsible for having stories ready for the team to implement before each sprint
  • Be a team member of the product management team
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in product design and development discussions
  • Follow our competitors and the industry
  • Own the product roadmap and ensure it aligns with the strategic goals

  • Mainframe Knowledge: A deep understanding of z/OS principals and common systems/applications software is essential 
  • Candidates without detailed mainframe knowledge but with a strong background in enterprise systems operations data visualization will also be considered  
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experiences a strong plus 
  • Team player with strong communication skills 
  • Proven analytic/business analysis skills 
  • Clear and concise presentation skills  
  • Experience with one of the following mainframe products families: 
  • Monitors/Automation
  • Storage 

Desired: 

  • Knowledgeable & experienced in software development 
  • Knowledgeable & experienced in enterprise system management 
  • Strong understanding and work experience in an Agile framework 
  • Solid understanding of the role mainframes plays in today's enterprise customer-facing applications.
  • An Operational Resilience or Cyber Security background

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is £ 58,350 - £ 97,250 Min salary 58,350
