Role Summary
The Technical Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing delivery of products and services projects within a SaaS (Software as a Service) environment. This individual will serve as the key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure the seamless execution of complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a technical background combined with exceptional project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with SaaSOps PMO, technical teams, and product managers to establish project requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
- Oversee the integration and deployment of SaaS products and features, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and adherence to industry standards.
- Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making processes, particularly regarding architecture, scalability, and system design complexities.
- Work closely with SaaSOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and ensure optimal product delivery workflows.
- Monitor and mitigate technical risks that may arise during the development lifecycle, prioritizing resolutions to avoid project delays.
Project Planning and Execution
- Define clear project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Create detailed project roadmaps, technical documentation, and task breakdowns to guide the team throughout the delivery phase.
- Utilize project management tools to assign responsibilities, track progress, and ensure accountability within cross-functional teams.
- Implement appropriate project management methodologies and techniques, utilizing Waterfall & Agile techniques (Scrum or Kanban), to manage delivery and development cycles effectively.
- Ensure all deliverables align with predefined goals, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation plans for projects, proactively addressing potential issues to avoid project delays.
- Coordinate resource allocation across projects, optimizing team assignments and equipment use to enhance project efficiency.
- Manage the development and distribution of comprehensive documentation and reports for projects, ensuring stakeholders are informed about technical and project milestones.
- Develop and manage balanced scorecards for projects, ensuring a comprehensive view of project health across multiple dimensions such as financial performance, customer satisfaction, internal processes, and innovation.
- Proactively manage impediments across projects, coordinating with stakeholders to mitigate risks and handling escalations to maintain project momentum.
- Facilitate the integration of stakeholder feedback into projects, leading efforts to continuously improve processes and deliverables based on this input.
- Ensure task accountability across projects, implementing tracking systems and holding team members responsible for their deliverables.
- Manage vendors and contractors for projects, overseeing performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; PMP or Scrum Master certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical project management within a SaaS or cloud computing environment.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, cloud technologies, API integrations, and DevOps practices.
- Proficient in project management tools such as MSFT Project, Jira and Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a US Citizen and hold security clearance to Secret level.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $99,600 - $166,000
