This role sits within the R&D team and is responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, and secure web applications that help enterprise customers monitor, manage, and respond to security events effectively. As a Developer, you will work on modern web application development using .NET, C#, Angular, TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, and secure coding practices, contributing to a high-impact security product used in complex enterprise environments.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade .NET web applications using C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and .NET Core. • Build intuitive, responsive, and scalable user interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, RxJS, and modern UI frameworks. • Work on applications supporting security log management, alerting, and SIEM-related use cases. • Develop and integrate applications with RESTful services, JSON-based data flows, and SQL-based databases such as SQLite or MS SQL Server. • Write clean, secure, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with engineering best practices. • Apply debugging, unit testing, and end-to-end testing practices to ensure application stability and quality. • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies. • Contribute to performance optimization, usability improvements, and secure web application development. • Stay current with emerging technologies, including GenAI/AI-ML tools and engineering productivity enablers.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: • 6+ years of overall software engineering experience, with strong hands-on development in enterprise web applications. • Strong experience in C#, ASP.NET, MVC, .NET Core, and modern .NET application development. • Strong front-end engineering experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Angular CLI. • Experience with RxJS, state management concepts, SPA/PWA application patterns, and modern UI development workflows. • Good understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, clean coding principles, and scalable application architecture. • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON integration, SQL queries, and SQL-based databases such as SQLite or MS SQL Server. • Experience using engineering tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, Jira, Git/GitHub, npm, and NuGet. • Practical exposure to unit testing, end-to-end testing, debugging, and application quality practices. • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment practices, Agile, and Scrum delivery models. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a global engineering team. • Prior exposure to secure web development practices such as protection against XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, and related vulnerabilities will be highly valuable.
Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills: • Prior experience with Security Information and Event Management — SIEM — systems. • Experience working on security products, enterprise security platforms, log management, alerting, or threat monitoring tools. • Exposure to IBM z/OS mainframe operating system or mainframe security environments. • Experience with MS Orleans, MS Kestrel, .NET v7+, and cross-platform .NET development. • Exposure to Boost, TCP, UDP, TLS, certificates, Secure Apache Web Server, or Linux-based development. • Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD automation tools. • Experience developing and maintaining APIs. • Knowledge of Material Design, Bootstrap, Angular UI libraries, PWAs, or SPAs. • Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI technologies, including use of AI tools for development productivity or Python-based AI/ML development.
