Control-M covers all platforms with one architecture, not being limited to any platform or OS. It is growing at multiples of the general growth of the Workload Automation industry and indeed is one of the fastest growing solution in BMC. While Digital Business Automation as a discipline is associated with Production, Control-M is developing its coverage to development and data related people and disciplines. It covers, not only traditional IT operations orchestration but is focused on business process orchestration which lives natively in the cloud or exist in a hybrid environment that utilize both on-premises mixed with cloud environments. We don't just talk to Schedulers but are involved more and more with the business of our clients, from traditional business to fast moving, innovators running their entire business in the Cloud. Highly successful and geographically disperse Presales team, seeks a Solution Engineer to work closely with our elite sales team and enterprise customers to determine how we can best serve their unique needs through creating awareness of our products. This is a highly visible role working with some of our most successful sales teams, supporting prestigious enterprise clients and new logo accounts.
Responsibilities • Provide primarily pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. • Works with vendors, partners, and sales to ensure that optimum systems solutions are provided to new and existing customers. • Working with Sales to build compelling business case. • Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. • Assists the sales team in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. • Build mini applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. • Provides consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. • Uses full understanding of discipline to resolve complex issues in creative and efficient ways. • Apply judgement in evaluating and proposing recommendations to resolve issues that often require deep analysis and interpretation of data. • Participate in, and may lead, cross-functional and department teams.
Required qualifications
• Significant presales or technical experience in enterprise software is required (Ideally related to comparable BMC products) • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. • Substantial experience working in an enterprise-type software consulting, implementation, or training experience a major plus. • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure cloud platforms is highly desirable. • Self-motivated. Plans and executes tasks with very little supervision. • Ability to communicate technical and business information to a varied audience (technical and non-technical customers). • Subject matter expert on the technology and business use of one or more Workload Automation solutions (not necessarily Control-M) is highly desirable. • Experience with multiple, different IT platforms including mainframe, would be preferred. • Experience with Workload Automation or IT Process Automation would be useful • Ability to develop a broad awareness of the client's technical architecture and emerging technologies with enough knowledge to determine what is and is not possible. • Strong problem solving and analytical ability.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,150 - $170,250
