Summary   

Prepare food and beverages and provide beverage service in a friendly courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.                                    

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promote Cache Creek Casino Resort in a positive manner
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Perform all restaurant classifications sequence of service standards
  • Perform tableside menu service according to the standard
  • Promote teamwork and assist in all locations when scheduled to do so
  • Operate the Point of Sale System according to the training and standards provided
  • Participate in departmental cross-training exercises to learn shoulder job duties such as Hostess, Busser, Server, and Snack Bar/Cart
  • Complete all side work duties according to the standard in the bar and restaurant.
  • Promote and document orders for food and beverages, reciting selection of appetizers, entrees, desserts, specials and all call and premium brands as requested (required memorization of all available menu items and drinks).
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Input orders immediately at the point of sale and create a check for each guest/party prior to serving any food or beverage, including those served by cocktail servers, to maintain accountability of all food and beverages served.
  • Replenish food and beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guests to inquire about satisfaction.
  • Present the guests with their check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return.
  • Receive payment from guests and make change as needed.
  • Verify validity and record charges and insure vouchers are properly executed to insure all monies balance.
  • Maintain proper and adequate setup of the bar on a daily basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest areas at all times, including removing empty bottles/glasses and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Keep the bar and restaurant area at a high level of sanitation and hygiene at all times.
  • Respond to guest inquiries.
  • Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within casino resort guidelines.
  • Balance house bank at the beginning and at the end of each shift.
  • Retrieve and return back from the employee bank to work station to insure accountability.
  • Check stations before, during and after each shift to insure proper setup and cleanliness are maintained.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience 

Bartending School Certificate or 3 months bartending experience. Customer service skills required. 

 

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                     

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and second hand tobacco smoke. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of all state, federal and corporate regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

 

Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during heavy volume periods.
