- THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
- The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
- Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
- Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
- There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).

- Job Requirements
- A FULL ***3 YEARS OF RECENT ICU EXPERIENCE.
- Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS;AUTO OFFER.
- UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2.
- There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
- Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
- Schedule Information
- Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
- Typically, every other weekend is required.
- Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday
- Holiday Requirements: May have 1 holiday off in an assignment
- No additional call/standby shifts required. However, may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
- Unit Specific Information
- Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
- Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac + Overflow
- Units: 32 beds in SICU, 36 Medical Cardiac unit + 12 bed overflow unit
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level 1 trauma Center, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15, Ex-lap, crani, specialty neuro-surgery cases, CVA, post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS, and more.
- RNs are required to titrate drips.
- Charge Nurse responsibilities: Yes, do not take patients.
- Health Unit Secretary availability: yes, only used for sitters.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, 24/7.
- RT in ICU 24/7: Yes.
- Tele/Monitor Techs: No. RNs required to interpret their own strips.
- Monitor brand: GE monitors.
- Self-scheduling policy: Yes, with manager's balancing for unit needs.
- Floating Requirements: Float to tele with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days.
