JOB PURPOSE Under the general supervision of the Sr. Manager of Legal Service and Compliance will ensure the organization remains up to date on compliance requirements in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and tracking of the Company's I-9 Process.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering compliance-related training and communications to employees.
  • Develops and provides employee training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems.
  • Review, scan and maintain employment-related and personnel files.
  • Collects internal compliance data and analyzes it to identify issues.
  • Prepare responses to third-party subpoenas, personnel file requests, and other employment-related third-party requests for information and documents.
  • Performs data entry/record-keeping activities by entering information promptly and accurately in various formats of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Answers questions and educates employees on compliance matters.
  • Performs legal research and collects relevant legal information as needed.
  • Ability to work with the HR Business Partners in conducting investigations relating to educator misconduct.
  • Assists as needed with departmental policies, procedures, and documents in support of the Compliance function.
  • Assists in data gathering and compiling of information for special projects as assigned.
  • Gathers compliance acknowledgments, enters and maintains training records in the database, and is responsible for recordkeeping.

  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and have the ability to comprehend and interpret legal documents.
  8. Thorough knowledge of databases and tracking systems.
  9. Must be able to work independently.
  10. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in such fields as Human Resources, or Legal Studies from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of prior Human Resource Experience/or Paralegal experience.
  • Compliance experience required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:

  • Usual office working conditions.
  PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • No physical exertion is required.
  • Travel within or outside of state.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA's salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

 

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is Exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.
