JOB PURPOSE Assists with the implementation of a systematic school-wide approach to tiered intervention within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Activities may include coordinating classroom intervention programs, providing curriculum and instructional support to teachers including effective intervention strategies, and implementing specialized services to meet the needs of students.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and delivers professional learning related to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Social emotional Learning (SEL) and data driven instruction to school staff.
  • Provides observation, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate the implementation of academic and social-emotional-behavioral interventions and supports through the MTSS framework.
  • Provides support to administrators and teachers including, but not limited to, feedback regarding instructional and intervention practices at Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III, interpreting data, facilitating data driven decisions, progress monitoring, and other processes necessary to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
  • Works Collaboratively with district-level and school-level staff to support early identification of student needs and respond with appropriately aligned instructional strategies and/or targeted interventions and practices.
  • Monitors the fidelity of implementation and documentation of MTSS practices at the school level to ensure compliance with district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations.
  • Prepares and submits reports in accordance with the timelines set forth by school-level and district requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  1. Schedules, organizes, and conducts the MTSS Tier 2 meetings and /or MTSS Tier 3 Student Support Team (SST) meetings.
  2. Attends job-related professional development and local and state-level meetings to stay abreast of educational research, trends and issues.
  3. Maintains cooperative working relationships with parents/guardians, administrators school staff, and other district personnel through timely, effective written and oral communication.
  4. Maintains knowledge of current relevant state and local MTSS regulations, procedures, and practices.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or Social Work from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of successful classroom teaching, supervisory level education administration, or closely related experience required.
  • Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in the appropriate educational field at level T-4 or above, or social work at level S-5 or above required.
  • Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Facilitator Endorsement or Student Support Team (SST) Coordinator Endorsement preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Agility and ability to quickly move in a school environment where children are present.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

 

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY (Salary)

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.
