Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes, 1:12
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? High flow

Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner
Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications
Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
