POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for general ledger accounting areas, primarily environmental remediation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred. 
• Two to five years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system & Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills; experience with an enterprise accounting system preferable.
• Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both oral and written.
• Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals.
• Ability to process information including gathering, assessing, coding, organizing, auditing, and verifying data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review invoices to make sure they are coded correctly to the environment projects.
• Review all cost sheet estimates/changes for over 900 projects. Work with the Cost sheet consultants to make sure all costs are being captured correctly.
• Prepare month end journal entries.
• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Monitor environmental short-term receivables for collectability.
• Conduct quarterly meeting to review short-term receivables status and collectability.
• Responds in a timely manner to questions from field personnel and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by accounting management.
