Job Summary
Prepare and submit balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts as assigned.  Perform complex research to identify and resolve outstanding items.  Work with internal and external resources across the organization to facilitate successful resolution to problems.  Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data which may include preparing monthly/quarterly/annual reports.

Essential Functions

  • Reconcile assigned accounts for large transaction-based processes (i.e. Credit Card Processes, Financial Services, Lottery, ATMs, etc.) each period and resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepare asset, liability and expense account journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies and governmental regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintain accounting controls by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls while reviewing SOX procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports utilizing multiple database sources including ReconNet, PDI, and other data sources.
  • Provide assistance and mentoring to Accounting Analysts within the department.
  • Promptly and effectively communicate with both internal and external customers
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.  Three years of accounting experience.  Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • Able to work independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Demonstrate ability to foster teamwork and facilitate teams through the encouragement and building of mutual trust, respect, and cooperation amongst team members.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and experience or ability to analyze data in a high transaction volume organization.
  • Must be proficient in MS Access, Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with accounting applications preferred; PDI and Trintech ReconNet experience is a plus.
  • Able to interface with all functions at all levels within the organization.
  • Project management skills to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects based on business needs and requirements.
  • Detail-oriented, able to work effectively under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate computer keyboard for data entry.
  • Ability to hear and speak for store support service via telephone.

This role is hybrid based out of our office in Tempe, AZ.
