QUALITY ENGINEER

 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? "The Quality Engineer plays a key role in executing the assigned tasks as per the various test automation initiaves and plans related to functional, smoke and regression testing as well as test data management and test environment strategy and provisioning.This role is accountable for supporting the quality initiatives with focus on delivering high quality applications to our clients in a fast paced environment while collaborating with cross functional team of developers, architects and business.Quality Engineer provides automated testing expertise and oversight to junior team members. "

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright or equivalent tools to ensure comprehensive coverage across web and API applications
• BDD Implementation: Write clear and maintainable Gherkin specifications and translate them into automated test scenarios using industry-standard frameworks
• API Testing: Develop and execute REST API test cases using Postman, validating functional and non-functional requirements
• Performance Testing: Execute performance and load testing using LoadRunner or equivalent tools; identify bottlenecks and collaborate on optimization efforts
• Edge Case & Scenario Validation: Identify and test critical edge cases, boundary conditions, and complex business scenarios specific to banking operations
• AI-Assisted Development: Leverage Git Copilot and advanced prompting techniques to enhance coding efficiency and code quality
• Production Support: Provide on-call production support as needed; investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement quick fixes
• Quality Metrics & Analytics: Analyze test metrics, generate insights, and recommend process improvements; track quality trends and KPIs
• Kanban Process Adherence: Work within Agile Kanban workflows; manage work items, sprint cycles, and collaborate with cross-functional teams

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 4 experience with test automation
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with and testing relational Databases.

  Additional Qualifications

• Test Automation Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Playwright (or Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent)
• Programming Languages: Strong expertise in TypeScript (or JavaScript, Python, Java, or equivalent)
• BDD & Gherkin: Demonstrated experience writing Gherkin scenarios and implementing BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, etc.)
• Banking Domain Knowledge: Proven experience in banking/financial services; understanding of compliance, security, and transaction processes
• API Testing: Hands-on experience with REST API testing and Postman; knowledge of API design principles and testing best practices
• Performance Testing: Experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, or equivalent load/performance testing tools
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and Git workflows; comfortable with collaborative development practices
• AI & Prompting: Practical experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants; ability to craft effective prompts
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities; capable of analyzing complex issues and providing data-driven solutions
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Kanban/Scrum environments with continuous integration and delivery practices

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $77,000 - $143,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
