WEALTH STRATEGIST CNR WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? This position is responsible for further expanding City National Rochdale's relationships with its high and ultra-high net-worth (UHNW**) clients. Helps to attract new prospective clients to CNR by partnering with Senior Investment Consultants and the independent financial advisors they serve. Support Sr Wealth Strategist and Wealth Strategist team in the development of HNW and UHNW client facing materials in the areas of Estates and Trusts, Income Taxation, Philanthropy, and Asset Protection, and Investments, with an emphasis on business exit planning. What you will do
- Work closely with Senior Investment Consultants (SIC) and Financial Advisors (FA) as we serve their UHNW clients by providing Comprehensive Wealth Assessments (CWA)
- Travel to public speaking engagements with audience that includes Financial Advisors, their clients and/or prospects, and COIs including attorneys and CPAs
- Create Comprehensive Wealth Assessments by building financial plans and models, and review of wills, trusts and other planning related documents to enhance the value proposition of Financial Advisors as we serve their UHNW clients and prospects
- Planning process consists of: Crystallization of Objectives, Identification of what is currently in place to meet those objectives, Determination of gaps in planning, Identification of solutions worthy of consideration, educating client toward final decisions in conjunction with client's attorney and/or CPA who in turn implement the solutions
- Submit for peer review all client-facing custom designed output for compliance approval
- Travel to client meetings and speaking engagements as needed
- Support the Wealth Strategy team by developing sophisticated reports/dashboards and making other changes to support all business reporting and other operational needs using Salesforce
- Peer review client-facing custom designed output from other Sr. Wealth Strategist.
- Partner with Strategy team to create understandable, customized and high quality models to help clients make informed decisions
- Participate and/or lead client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver integrated planning services to clients.
- Keep abreast of legislative and tax changes.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with COI's in partnership with colleagues.
- Participate in client seminars and events
- Collaborate with marketing and training to prepare written and oral presentations to support educational programs for colleagues, clients and prospective clients.
- Write articles on timely topics of wealth planning that can be distributed to clients or marketing materials to CNR's clients, prospects, and COIs.
Must-Have*
- Advanced Degree (JD, CPA, CFA or Masters in Tax/Accounting/Business…)
- Minimum 8 years of financial planning or related experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience within Banking, Brokerage, or Insurance culture
- CFP - Certified Financial Planner
- CEPA - Certified Exit Planning Advisor within one year of employment
Skills and Knowledge
- Significant experience in public speaking and extensive presentation skills
- Ability to travel 20-50% of the time
- Demonstrable expertise in multiple areas such as; estate, gift and capital gains tax mitigation; asset protection; philanthropy; life insurance, portfolio management
- Demonstrable expertise in the use of financial modeling systems such as eMoney, Money Guide Pro NaviPlan, WealthStation, or the like
- Outstanding Word and PowerPoint creation abilities
- Advanced Excel experience
- Prior experience in reviewing documents such as wills, trusts, and buy-sell agreements
- Demonstrable proficiency in Salesforce preferred
- Stay current on cutting edge wealth planning solutions while retaining the ability to explain and implement those solutions in an easy to understand manner
- Demonstrable expertise in Team-Based (multi-disciplinary) wealth planning
- Demonstrable expertise in multiple wealth planning issues (e.g., life insurance, qualified plans, charitable trusts, etc.) as they relate to portfolio construction
- Demonstrable expertise at explaining complex strategies to clients and COI's as we help them make smart financial decisions
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
