GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Chief of Probation, performs responsible work in drug testing of persons referred within the court system for detection of illicit use of abusive drugs. Work involves daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of drug testing instruments, completion of necessary procedures on each individual tested, troubleshooting instruments, testifying in court, and maintaining supplies and all necessary documentation required. Work is performed independently and reviewed through results. Performs other work as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or equivalent certificate of competency.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) Employee(s) must obtain certification from Thermo-Fisher Scientific or a designated licensed drug testing facility within the probationary period of six (6) months of employment.
