GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of an employee of a higher classification, performs work at the beginning training level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and traffic signal control systems. Work involves structured training in installing and repairing solid state, electronic, electrical, and mechanical defects in traffic signal systems. Assignments are given orally or in writing with sketches/blueprints. An employee of this class may be on twenty-four-hour call. Performs other work as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED, HISET, or equivalent certificate of competency.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
Position(s) of this classification may require a valid Louisiana driver's license or a valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A, B, or C with appropriate endorsements. If license is required, must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
