If so, consider this Accountant position which reports to a Senior Accountant in the Business Financial Analytics– Capital Project team at the City of Edmonton.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will be mainly responsible for Capital Project Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting, and your key responsibilities will include:

• Technical and professional advice: Providing department officials with professional accounting advice and guidance in matters pertaining to financial policies and procedures
• Maintain the General Ledger: Preparing, researching and managing journal entries, reconciliations, funding analysis and other related functions
• Maintain the Fixed Asset System: Ensure financial integrity of the Fixed Asset Module and application of appropriate capitalization rules and policies
• Year End Statement Package: Preparing and organizing year-end working papers, departmental financial statement preparation and other related year end duties, within prescribed deadlines
  Performing other related duties as required
