Your key responsibilities will include:
Accountant - Capital Project Accounting
- Technical and professional advice: Providing department officials with professional accounting advice and guidance in matters pertaining to financial policies and procedures
- Maintain the General Ledger: Preparing, researching and managing journal entries, reconciliations, funding analysis and other related functions
- Maintain the Fixed Asset System: Ensure financial integrity of the Fixed Asset Module and application of appropriate capitalization rules and policies
- Year End Statement Package: Preparing and organizing year-end working papers, departmental financial statement preparation and other related year end duties, within prescribed deadlines
Accountant - Business Financial Analytics
- Provide financial analytics, strategic support and consultative services, facilitating a culture of strong financial governance and stewardship
- Prepare and analyze operating and capital budgets and provide information to program managers to ensure accurate budget control and performance measurement
- Prepare a variety of management level reports, including monthly capital and operating performance reporting, and detailed cost analysis
- Work individually or as a team leader on specialized accounting assignments
