As a pivotal member of our team, you'll harness your adaptability, technical expertise, and analytical flair to tackle a variety of Addressing tasks with precision and finesse. From reviewing drawings, site analysis, research, and strategic problem solving, you'll collaborate directly with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Planners, Developers, Engineers, and more.

What will you do?

  • Review architectural and building drawings and relevant site plans for Minor Permits (infill) and Home Improvement Permits (secondary and backyard suites)
  • Review Commercial Permits when new spaces are created and require additional addresses
  • Creating unit addresses for Business Licenses
  • Determine addresses for the new buildings, suites, and entryways and execute the new addresses into AEGIS/ArcPro
  • Complete the addressing process in POSSE
  • Notify the Development Officer and relevant applicant of the permit
  • Compose and distribute addressing letters for each address established
  • Compose and distribute monthly circulations of all the newly created addresses to emergency response agencies, Canada Post, and all affected City Departments and utility partners
  • Assist the Addressing Team on more complex work
  • An integral part of the subdivision, permitting, secondary suite and infill development process, no permit can be released without being addressed
  • Manage the shared business email account while providing excellent customer service, including assigning emails to various members on the team and responding to inquiries, (e.g., a resident verifying their home address)
  • Keep track of Addressing statistics and data for analysis purposes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
