Description

Are you a natural leader with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences? Fort Edmonton Park is looking for a dynamic Customer Service Coordinator to join our Community Recreation and Culture branch.

In this vital role, you will directly lead, coach, and support a dedicated front-line team of 8 to 15 Customer Service Representatives. You will ensure smooth daily operations at our admissions and retail counters, helping to welcome over 100,000 visitors during our busy summer months. From managing staff schedules and overseeing financial transactions to de-escalating customer concerns, your leadership will shape the first impression for our community. What will you do?

  • Supervise, coach, and provide daily guidance and mentorship to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to ensure operational efficiency
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and comprehensive training plans for returning and seasonal staff
  • Manage staff scheduling, monitor staffing levels, and handle payroll entry while minimizing overtime
  • Oversee daily cash handling, deposits, floats, audits, and compliance with cash control policies
  • Deliver professional, consistent service across all channels, effectively de-escalating challenging or complex community and staff situations
  • Coordinate site-wide activity calendars, event support services, facilities work orders, and asset management for communications equipment
  • Act as an incident commander during emergencies, ensuring safety compliance and promoting a proactive workplace health and safety culture
  • Other related duties as required
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service featuring accurate and secure cash handling

Assets

  • Six (6) months of proven experience monitoring and evaluating the work of others, including scheduling, delegating work, coaching, and evaluating performance

Skills required for success:

  • Proven ability to provide strong leadership, mentorship, and conflict resolution to front-line staff
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on oral communication with the general public and cross-facility collaborators
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency with computers, Google Applications, and Point of Sale (POS) equipment and software
  • Solid understanding of recreation facility operations, cash management protocols, and business performance tracking

Conditions of Employment:

  • Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton, and there may be a cost associated with this requirement
  • Possession of current Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED certifications
  • Applicants may be tested

Work Environment:

  • Note: Due to the nature of this work, this position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement
  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement, and the incumbent will be notified in advance
  • Fort Edmonton Park features working farms, livestock, and a historic midway, meaning employees are frequently exposed to common plant allergens and livestock
  • This is a public-facing role and requires engagement and interaction with diverse people from various backgrounds with different needs, expectations and emotional states

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $25.174  - $31.256  (Hourly)
