The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking an experienced Digital Content Strategist to work with our Corporate Communications Team. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of social media and how to use content to articulate the Service's key messages across multiple platforms while engaging with online communities. The major responsibilities of this position include:

  • Researching and conceptualizing compelling content based on the EPS's Vision and Mission statements and goals.
  • Tailoring content to the specific strengths of each social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube.)
  • Identifying and engaging with online communities, including under-represented/underserved communities. 
  • Using analytics to establish effective strategies for increasing online engagement and followers, including assessing how well existing content is performing, what type of content is missing, and what is needed.
  • Identifying online issues and trends, and responding using a targeted, coordinated communications strategy.
  • Providing input and technical expertise in the development and coordination of content strategies for EPS platforms.
  • Working with Public Affairs, Media Relations, and Digital Media Units, to articulate messaging, create content, and ensure content is aligned accordingly.
  • Adjusting and managing the content calendar.
  • Identifying new or emerging digital trends and platforms.
