Embrace a legacy, shape the future: Lead Fort Edmonton Park into its next chapter!
The Community Recreation and Culture Branch operates with a facility-focused output model, holding responsibility and accountability for all municipal recreation facilities, major attractions, river valley attractions, civic events and partnerships, cemeteries, golf courses, community recreation and sport centres, arenas, and leisure centers.
Reporting to the Branch Manager of Community Recreation and Culture and serving as a vital member of the Branch Leadership Team, the Director is responsible for the strategic management of Fort Edmonton Park. This historic destination proudly represents a rich tradition to the City of Edmonton, offering the Indigenous Peoples Experience Program, educational offerings, cultural, and heritage programming, events, and experiences from the 1846 Fort to the 1920's Midway and Exhibition. The Director will facilitate the coordination of these offerings, along with customer relationship functions, and operations at this distinguished facility.
As an integral part of the Community Recreation and Culture Leadership Team, the incumbent must possess the skills to understand and actively participate in decisions pertaining to all output and operational areas of the branch, as well as the overarching strategic direction of the department and the City. The incumbent must cultivate and sustain robust working relationships with other civic departments, government agencies, community groups, boards, and associations connected to the aforementioned facilities, ensuring Fort Edmonton Park continues to thrive as a cornerstone of our community.
