Great Library, Great City, Great Opportunity! If you are outgoing, enthusiastic and have a passion for working in the community with people of all ages then the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) has a summer position for you!
The focus of this role is to plan and lead library activities in the communities of Edmonton. You will have a unique opportunity to present classes and events in library branches, at playgrounds, daycares and community organizations for children of all ages. You will work with a professional and supportive branch staff and gain experience providing services to EPL customers. You will build relationships in our community and represent EPL!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present classes, children's story times, share makerspace/technology for children, and crafts.
- Plan and present classes and events for other audiences as required (e.g. teens, seniors, etc).
- Assist library branch staff with Summer Starts (Summer Reading Club) promotion and events.
- Be an EPL ambassador, forming relationships with participants inside the branch and out in the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
