As a Labourer II, you will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks to support daily facility operations. You will be responsible for setting up and taking down equipment for rentals, maintaining interior and exterior cleanliness, and operating specialized machinery. Working under the guidance of a Facility Crew Leader, you will often work independently to meet daily schedules and safety standards. Your efforts will directly ensure a positive and safe experience for all community members and collaborators.
What will you do?
- Set up and take down equipment for facility events, programs and sports activities
- Perform summer exterior site maintenance such as grounds keeping, garbage pick up, and grass trimming
- Minor equipment and furniture repairs
- Safely operate Tool Kat, John Deere Brush or Kubota, snow blower, gas-powered walk behind snow sweeper and hand equipment for seasonal snow removal
- Assist custodial staff with overall facility cleanliness and sanitation of washrooms, shower rooms and locker rooms
- Maintain cleanliness of all storage areas, mechanical areas, electrical rooms, corridors, public and other public areas of the facility.
- Indoor playground daily inspection and minor repairs
- Receive shipments and ensure they are delivered to the correct facility area
- Provide access to trades or contractors
- Liaise with and assist customers with equipment and facility needs to maintain excellent customer service
- Perform the daily facility opening and closing procedures
- Provide a security presence throughout the facility
- Maintain appropriate facility and equipment maintenance documentation
- Report facility and equipment maintenance needs to the Operations Supervisor and call for Trades assistance in his/her absence
- Liaise with and assist the Maintenance Repairman I and Building Trades Maintenance staff
