The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a professional with a specific interest and skill set in Respectful Workplace matters including harassment, harassment investigations, human rights, conflict resolution, training, and employee conduct to support the EPS in maintaining an inclusive and respectful work environment. Working specifically with the EPS' civilian and sworn positions, responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Act as a resource and subject matter expert in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedures, on issues related to workplace harassment, discrimination, human rights, and equity.
  • Manage harassment in the workplace files including intake, evaluation, and resolution. 
  • Investigate harassment in the workplace complaints, including document review, interviewing parties and witnesses, and providing written analysis, findings, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Liaise with unions and other external partners for ad hoc requests, and to facilitate investigative and resolution processes. 
  • Support and assist EPS staff and supervisors to appropriately and effectively respond to incidents of discrimination and/or harassment.
  • Deliver training on workplace harassment and discrimination to management, staff, recruits, and volunteers.  
  • Ensure presentations and training materials are kept up to date and current. 
  • Other related duties as required, such as the completion of investigative reports, and conducting sensitive interviews with complainants, police officer and civilian witnesses, and subject police officers.
