The City of Edmonton is looking for a data-driven professional to bridge the gap between complex digital architecture and frontline safety. As a Safety Data & Technology Analyst, you will be a key member of the Safety Strategy and Analytics Team, serving as a vital link to operational performance. Your mission is to transform raw data into meaningful insights that empower leaders to make informed decisions for a safer workplace. By leveraging a diverse technical stack, you will design and maintain sophisticated solutions that support a healthy, injury-free environment for all employees. You will act as a specialized expert, customizing data solutions to meet rigorous regulatory requirements while ensuring our safety systems remain integrated and effective. What will you do?
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for safety, performance, and WCB data analytics
- Work closely with operational teams to understand day-to-day workflows and identify opportunities for process optimization
- Design and implement customized data tracking solutions, including AppSheet applications and Python or JavaScript automation scripts
- Develop high-fidelity visualizations and reports in Tableau or Power BI to translate complex datasets into actionable narratives
- Conduct deep-dive trend analysis on historical incident data to move from reactive to proactive safety management
- Maintain data integrity by performing regular quality checks, troubleshooting system malfunctions, and ensuring backend pipelines remain robust
- Collaborate with collaborators across the organization to provide the "why" behind the numbers, helping leaders understand behavioral and environmental safety factors
