Reporting to the Clerical Supervisor, the Traffic Operations Clerk II is a key support for the Regulated Road Use section. The role provides administrative and clerical support for the safe and efficient operation, management and regulatory use of Edmonton's road right-of-way.

The Traffic Operations Clerk II is responsible for a broad range of clerical and administrative duties, which include supporting the section with 311 notifications and maintenance orders by creating, processing and triaging notifications for the different units of the Traffic Operations section. Supporting duties include reviewing and processing regulated road use permit applications, including On-Street Construction and Maintenance (OSCAM).

What you will do:

  • Create and triage SAP notifications to send to the section via 311 and other related streams
  • Work with Financial Services to recover sign and labour costs related to police files
  • Process Goods Receipts for various business areas
  • Lead and facilitate emergency barricade call-outs to ensure the safety of the transportation network
  • Process Traffic Operations' internal staff reimbursements for personal protective equipment (PPE) (ie: safety glasses)
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, via phone, email and in person
  • Review, process and administer On-Street Construction and Maintenance (OSCAM) permits, for the use of the road right-of-way
  • Open, sort, and route incoming mail, and prepare outgoing mail, including courier arrangements
  • Manage document retention, disposition, and distribution of paper and electronic records in compliance with FOIP requirements
  • Create and maintain files, ensuring adherence to corporate and departmental records management procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required
