The Mayor's Office is hiring a videographer to plan, shoot, and edit compelling long‑form and short‑form video content that tells Edmonton's story, supports public communications, and performs strongly across social platforms.
The successful candidate understands storytelling, the importance of brand, social media platform needs and trends, and can deliver high‑quality work independently in a fast‑paced political/municipal environment.
What will you do?
- Produce end‑to‑end video projects:
- Concepting, pre‑production, shooting, directing, editing, audio mixing, captions/subtitles, and delivery
- Rapidly capture and edit timely content during events, meetings, site visits, and media opportunities
- Ensure accessibility and compliance (captioning, branding, Protection of Privacy Act/municipal guidelines, consent for filming)
- Maintain organized file structures and deliver content in required formats and timelines
- Working with the communications and outreach team create a mix of long‑form videos (documentary‑style profiles, community profiles, explainer videos) and short‑form content for social media including speeches, event coverage and optimized for platform and audience
