Our Community Services Branch has opportunities for self-starters who will rise to the challenge, independently utilizing their problem-solving skills to educate and gain cooperation from people in the community. By focusing on one area, you will enhance your public relations skills as you investigate and resolve a high volume of complaints. Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve results in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.
With a focus on the City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:
- Investigate and enforce Municipal Bylaws and Provincial Acts
- Inspect properties for noxious weed violations
- Implement established procedures for noxious weed control
- Issue violation warnings, tickets and 545 Municipal Government Act orders
- Check computer maps for property locations
- Explain legislative provisions and enforcement process to citizens and business owners
- Address and respond appropriately to public inquiries on weed related matters
- Liaise with other City Departments to resolve enforcement issues
- Perform administrative and other related duties as required
