Service Technician Intern
The Intern Service Technicianposition is a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals interested in building a successful career in home maintenance and repair. As an intern, you'll receive valuable on-the-job training, gradually building an understanding of the role and its day-to-day duties. Your role will contribute to a successful model home center, while you also learn how to deliver exceptional customer service and repair common housing problems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity with the potential for professional growth and skill development in the maintenance field.
Responsibilities:
You will learn under the guidance of experienced technicians to perform general maintenance and repairs for manufactured homes. Your duties will evolve over time, but initially, your primary focus will be to assist senior technicians and learn how to:
- Assist with general maintenance to maintain property appearance and condition
- Learn the processes to complete service requests and repair basic issues
- Receive training on preventative care for HVAC and other home systems
- Help repair minor issues under supervision
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic handyman skills or a willingness to learn
- Physical ability to lift and move materials (up to 100 lbs) and perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, bending, stooping, and climbing
- Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and ask questions when needed
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to excel and contribute to a team environment
- Reliable and dependable attributes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to learn and operate company software
- Excellent phone skills
- Ability to learn a general understanding of the home center environment
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Ability to pass criminal background check as well as post-offer drug screen

In this internship role, the focus would be on exposure to our roles in the home center and service skill-building. You'd still be expected to show reliability, dependability, and a willingness to learn, but the emphasis would be on gaining practical experience.
