Job Description
Direct and coordinate all activities of the Volleyball staff, in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the College of Southern Nevada Volleyball team; ensure compliance by all coaches, with College, Conference, NSHE, CSN and NJCAA policies and regulations. Recruit and provide educational and athletic opportunities for students from the greater Las Vegas area and Nevada. The position will also create an atmosphere and recruit student athletes for the program which fit the CSN and NJCAA Division I philosophy for athletics. The Head Coach will oversee and maintain court conditions, storage, and locker room facilities, and sustain an acceptable levels for competition by all participants.
Ability to recruit students at the NJCAA level.
Ability to represent the college in exercising good human relation skills in the community and state.
Plan, organize, and coaching of the College of Southern Nevada Volleyball team.
Recruit eligible student athletes from greater Las Vegas valley as well as qualified out of state students to capitalize on participant opportunities and maximize rosters.
Support fund raising responsibilities within the athletic department and be an active member of the Southern Nevada community.
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes .
Serve as contact for scheduling of all Volleyball games and outside entities for facility rentals.
Coordinate schedule through proper channels in the Office of Athletics and Recreation.
Determine fiscal requirements and recommend budget to athletic administration.
Monitor, and verify expenditures of budgeted funds.
Purchase and maintain equipment.
Inspect practice and game facilities regularly for safety and aesthetic purposes
Proven ability to assist in fund raising events, corporate sponsorships and scholarships.
Knowledge of NJCAA, CSN and NSHE academic advising and graduation requirements
Basic knowledge of AED/CPR and sports medicine theories and techniques.
Ability to hire, supervise and direct all part time and volunteer assistants in proper function and assignments
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NJCAA policies and compliance issues.
