Director of Pharmacy

As a full-time, exempt CPS Solutions, LLC Director of Pharmacy at UM Charles Regional Medical Center you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed-upon programs. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the continued growth, development, and implementation of operational systems that support the safe delivery of pharmaceutical care.

Schedule:  This position is scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week. A typical schedule in this role will consist of weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Starting Pay: $165,000 - $195,000 annually, (Depending on related work experience) + Bonus eligibility

Facility : UM CRMC is a 109-bed medical center, with an active staff of 140 delivering compassionate, award-winning care. To keep pace with rapid changes in medical care and technology, UM CRMC began construction of a new outpatient healthcare center in North La Plata, offering sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, an imaging center, neurology, and primary care services. One of the largest employers in Charles County, the medical center continues to grow and expand to meet the needs of the increasing population and serve the community's needs with distinction. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

Pharmacy: The pharmacy is open twenty-four hours Monday through Friday, and from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm on weekends and holidays. This centralized pharmacy utilizes EPIC and Pyxis.  Current programs and services include a very strong clinical service, pharmacokinetic dosing, antibiotic stewardship, renal dosing and oncology, and pharmacy-based pain management service. Night service is provided by CPS Telepharmacy with Staff Pharmacists on call.

  Required Qualifications: 

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Current MD Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 3-5 years of recent experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting
  • 4+ years of managerial experience in a hospital environment is required.
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Good communications skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills 
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
