As a full time, exempt Director of Pharmacy with CPS Solutions, LLC at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, you are the Pharmacist In Charge and Director all in one. The role and responsibilities include operating the pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. In addition, you will be staffing and overseeing all pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing and controlling activities. You will fill orders with accuracy; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy. In this role, you will oversee 3 full time Staff Pharmacists and 3-4 Pharmacy Technicians.
As a CPS-employed Director of Pharmacy, you'll have a full support team available to you including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory. RX Learning center for continuing education. You will have easy access to other Director's of Pharmacy for peer resources and support. Remote pharmacy services available for after hours coverage.
Schedule: This full time position works at least 40 hours per week. (Weekend/on-call coverage required if a staff pharmacist is on PTO)
Salary range : $145,000-$160,000 based on experience plus bonus potential
About the Pharmacy: The hours of operation are 6:30 AM- 6PM Monday-Friday and 7 AM-3:30 PM weekends and holidays. The Pharmacy uses Omnicell. The hospital uses Meditech. The pharmacy utilizes Blue Sight Control Check Controlled Substance surveillance software as well as Sentri7 for clinical interventions and documentation. .
About the Facility: Ottumwa Regional Health Center, an 88 bed, Joint Commission accredited hospital, has been serving the community of Ottumwa and the citizens of Southeast Iowa for more than 125 years. We are a regional health center providing a wide range of health services, including emergency medicine, critical care services, medical/surgical, acute rehabilitation, obstetrics, and pediatrics, as well as specialty services such as cardiac catheterization, diagnostic and therapeutic radiological services, wound care, pain clinic, sleep lab, pathology, and so much more. This is part of the Lifepoint Health hospital system. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
Qualifications:
• Pharmacy Degree - Bachelors or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Iowa Pharmacist licensure that is currently active and in good standing
• At least 1 year recent inpatient hospital pharmacy management/supervisory experience
• At least 3 years recent inpatient Pharmacist experience
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
• Ability to work cooperatively with other members of hospital and pharmacy staff
Hospital Requirements: (may be required)
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
- Hep B3 Series (or declination)
- (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
