We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable. *Position Summary* The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a leader on the Agile Release Train (ART), a team of teams (50-125 people) that plan, commit, develop, and deploy software together to deliver significant value to Digital's end customers. This is an instrumental leadership role in the oversight and execution of Digital initiatives that generates multimillion-dollar business value to the organization and touch millions of consumers every year, partnering closely with Digital leaders (Product, Engineering, architecture, and Design) across the organization to provide quarterly guidance and day-to-day direction. RTEs ensure that trains can optimize the flow of value to deliver on prioritized outcomes within the minimum cycle time and with high quality​. They share the trains' outcome goals and are accountable for relentless train improvement and for ensuring transparency about the ART's delivery, risks and accomplishments. The RTE drives train processes and ensures teams have everything they need to be successful to build the product and help coach the ART in Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).   RTEs works with peers and functional leads to help improve operational health for the train. They are an important part of identifying where help is needed, and how best to bring Digital's resources to bear to solve it. Includes building, reviewing & interpreting operational health metrics (i.e., flow, maturity, proficiency, identifying where help is needed, and then informing the action plan and tracking results to adjust.  *Required Qualifications* * 7+ years working with Lean- Agile methodologies in a large organization * 5+ years of experience as RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager * Experience with consumer-facing digital products and/or building platforms. * Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software * Excellent communication (written, oral, presentations), holistic view and systems thinker * Proactive, problem-solving approach – someone who offers solutions not problems for others to solve. Comfortable jumping in as needed to support the Train * Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills/collaborative style and the ability to establish strong working relationships and influence peers and stakeholders * Demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions * Understanding of Agile at scale philosophies & methodologies. * Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scaling models * Synthesize data from multiple sources and use that information to develop insights on train's status * Experience using Agile best practices, i.e., burn-down charts, different retrospective formats, defect management, user stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, automated testing, etc *Preferred Qualifications* * Program Management experience in the Retail, Digital, Healthcare or PBM industry * Able to lead without “Command and Control” style (servant leadership), empathetic * Willing to try new things, check and see if they worked, and then change and adapt * Advanced understanding of software development * Advanced understanding of lean-agile principles/mindset and SAFe principles/core values, including Lean UX, User Centered Design, and Design Thinking * Experience leveraging and interpreting agile metrics * Experience partnering with User Experience (UX) designers, researchers, architects, content strategists, and leaders * Scrum Master experience with teams working on complex large-scale applications * Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as CA Rally, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc. * Understanding of resource allocations, forecasting, and budgeting. * Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train engineer (RTE) certification, SAFe Scrum Master certification, or another scrum master or agile coaching certification * Understanding of a Commercial Billing Application and the interactions with upstream and downstream systems. Including, but not limited to, Billing dependencies on Enrollment, Plan, Product, Rates and invoice setup to support Customer requirements. Knowledge of how Commercial Billing impacts downstream systems such as Accounts Receivable, Reconciliation, General Ledger and other financial reporting tools. * As an RTE, need to have thorough understanding of the dependencies and impacts upstream system changes will have on a Commercial Billing application. Need to understand how Commercial Billing application changes can impact downstream financial reporting systems as well. *Education* Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $124,372.50 - $247,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
