Description

This role is ideally suited for physicians trained in Emergency Medicine, or those with backgrounds in Family Practice or Internal Medicine who possess significant Emergency Medicine experience. The physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of urgent health issues, performing common procedures, and making critical decisions regarding patient care and treatment plans. They must be adept at handling a diverse array of medical situations with efficiency and compassion, maintaining high standards of medical practice and patient safety. Additionally, the physician will collaborate with other healthcare professionals both in the local VA clinic as well as providers in the community to ensure comprehensive patient care and will stay updated with the latest medical procedures and practices relevant to urgent care medicine.

Clinical – 100%: As an urgent care physician, the provider is responsible for providing immediate, patient-centered medical care for a wide array of acute and urgent conditions. The primary duties include conducting medical examinations, accurately diagnosing illnesses and injuries, and formulating effective treatment plans. The physician is expected to simultaneously manage a diverse range of cases, from common infections and minor injuries to more complex conditions like fractures or acute exacerbations of chronic diseases in a timely manner. The role demands proficiency in performing minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage. The physician must also be skilled in the interpretation of diagnostic tests, including lab results and radiographic imaging. Collaboration with the veterans Patient-Aligned Care Team to ensure comprehensive patient care, along with the ability to provide guidance and supervision to ancillary staff, is crucial. Furthermore, the physician is expected to stay abreast of current medical practices and procedures, adhering to evidence-based practices and guidelines, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of service quality and patient safety within the urgent care setting.
Work Schedule: Clinical care hours will be scheduled with the timeframe of Monday to Friday, 07:30-18:00

Compensation Information:
$225000.0 / Annually - $225000.0 / Annually
