Dallas VA Medical Center Is Seeking Diagnostic Radiologists.

Diagnostic Radiology Service of the Veterans Affairs (VA) North Texas Health Care System (Dallas, Texas) is hiring attending Diagnostic Radiologist Physicians. The Dallas VA is a progressive healthcare provider in the heart of North Texas that covers 38 counties in Texas and two in southern Oklahoma, headquartered in Dallas, TX. Accredited by The Joint Commission, this 1A complexity level campus is the second largest VA healthcare system in the country, serving more than 136,000 Veterans with 1.6 million outpatient episodes of care in the most recent fiscal year.

Responsibilities: The diagnostic radiologist provides a spectrum of image interpretation, image-guided procedures, and patient care services within the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology and may also possess additional subspecialty expertise in one of several different areas. In addition to the clinical practice of general diagnostic radiology, other duties include contributions to quality assurance and performance improvement, oversight of technical quality, education of staff and trainees, committee assignments, and other activities that support clinical operations and the mission, values, and goals of the VA and the Medical Center.

Ideal Candidate: Completion of Diagnostic Radiology Residency or equivalent. Fellowship training is preferred but not essential.

Salary: $330,000 - $340,000

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a – 4:30p, Call frequency variable, is generally very manageable, and lifestyle-balanced.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment) available

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and a possible five day spent absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME: Possible $2,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Malpractice: Providers covered by the Federal Tort Claim ACT; can also purchase supplemental FEDS PLI coverage
