The Highlights: The Digital Communications Specialist will support the development and implementation of the comprehensive communications strategy for the Division of Advancement and External Relations. This person will be responsible for the writing and execution of digital content across Advancement communication vehicles driving philanthropic and engagement priorities. The successful candidate for this position will possess excellent writing and editing skills, experience in fundraising communications, experience in producing both print and online media, and will be able to successfully complete overlapping projects under tight deadlines.

What You'll Do:

  • Write, edit and execute Advancement communications, including emails and eNewsletters, event invitations and collateral, fundraising material, and internal communications. 
  • Write and manage content for Advancement websites (alumni, parents, magazine) and social media channels, including but not limited to proofing and posting events, writing alumni profiles and student stories, and maintaining accurate information across the suite of Advancement-owned websites. 
  • Develop and create a range of high-quality digital media projects, including the conception, execution and delivery of video content, design and messaging for social media, and other creative projects as assigned.
     
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • Minimum two (2) years writing experience is required; experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Exemplary proofreading/editing skills are required; familiarity with AP style is preferred.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment is required.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform preferred 
  • The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, communicative and highly organized. S/he will be adept at building solid working relationships across departments, functions and personalities. They will also work well under pressure, be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be detail-oriented. The successful candidate also:
    • will be an engaging and versatile writer 
    • will have exacting editing and proofreading skills and standards
    • will be a resourceful self starter with a high degree of initiative
    • will have experience in development of electronic content
    • will have experience using the Adobe Creative Suite
