The Highlights: Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Operations Manager, also referred to as the Night and Weekend Operations Manager, oversees all operations and event production of the Lincoln Park Student Center, Cortelyou Commons, Munroe Conference Rooms, and the Quad in the evenings and weekends. This position manages all training aspects of the student operations staff. This position require basic knowledge of Audio Visual equipment
In addition, this position also oversees all facility operations, customer service, safety and security, and all liaison relationships with contracted University partners that operate in the evenings or weekends.
What You'll Do:
- Manages evening and weekend operations of Lincoln Park Student Center, Cortelyou Commons, and the reservable outdoor spaces. Responsible for all aspects of event production, facility operations, customer service, and safety and security. Greets and serves as primary on site resource for clients hosting events in Lincoln Park Student Center facilities.
- Ensures that set up for upcoming events are completed accurately and aesthetically in advance for each event and prior to facility closing for the next day. This includes acting as a liaison for catering furniture set up.
- Produces nightly operations reports, building schedules, and submits maintenance requests for building, equipment and furnishings.
- Supervise all student part-time employees including night/weekend managers, set up and on call crews, audio visual and information desk staffs.
- Manages training program for student employees. This includes organizing the yearly mandatory in-person training, coordinating completion of compliance training, appropriate manuals and training of new hires throughout the year.
- Manages has knowledge of Audio Visual equipment inventory at Lincoln Park Student Center.
- Assist in hiring and evaluation of student set up crew members and building managers.
- Act as liaison to other DePaul staff members or outside vendors who are providing services to night event clients. This includes acting as liaison to night custodial crews.
- Responsible for all student managers and employees on duty.
- Assigns and approves the work of Night Managers, set up crew, information desk and AV employees.
- Makes performance related decisions for the employees working each evening.
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Two years of full or part time work in a supervisory or operations oversight position in a student union preferred or requisite experience
- Routine moving, lifting and setting of event equipment including meeting room tables, chairs, and furniture.
- Supervision and leadership of student staff
- Event planning, coordination, and oversight abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Daily contact with internal and external clients to ensure smooth operations of the scheduled events. Daily contact with student employees.
- Working knowledge of computer business applications and computer reservations systems
- Working knowledge of common audio visual equipment
- Evening and weekend hours are a routine responsibility of this position.
- Responding to emergencies that occur in event production during non-business hours are expected.
- Availability for major campus events outside of regular business hours is necessary and expected.

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $47,783.00 to $58,587.00.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
