The Highlights:   Reporting to the Director of the Law Library, the Senior Faculty Services Reference Librarian provides general and in-depth reference and research services to law faculty, law students, University faculty and students, and other library users.
The Senior Faculty Services Reference Librarian is committed to a culture of learning, combining strong organizational and supervisory skills with the enthusiasm to initiate and support innovation in the Reference Department through services.
This position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, management and implementation of the law library's reference services and policies. More specifically, overseeing and
 

What You'll Do:

• Manage and oversee faculty support and reference services provided to all patrons of the law library.
• Direct supervision and coordination of the efforts of the law library's professional librarians. This may include:
o Interviewing, selecting, supervision and performance appraisal, training, and career development of professional library personnel.
o Establishing policy and practice affecting the law library's efforts to provide reference and support for faculty research.
• Coordinate and participate in the law library's faculty liaison program and research instruction.
• Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of full and part-time support staff.
• Participate in team efforts to provide high quality service in the overall efficient operation of the law library and college of law.
• Prepare and provide research presentations in support of law school seminars and courses; and other department activities, such as authoring and editing print and electronic research guides, (LibGuides) content for the law library website, and a physical display of faculty publications.

Other:

• An aptitude for using computers in the delivery of information services, familiarity with integrated library systems, demonstrated oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with others.

What You'll Need:

• Master's degree in information / library science from ALA accredited graduate school.
• J.D. from ABA accredited law school.
• Substantial knowledge of and proficiency with a wide range of legal information sources and research methods.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
• Experience in group instruction.
• Experience using and familiarity with emerging research & library technologies.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 5-7 years performing reference work in an academic law library.
 

  The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $64,662.00 to $85,045.09 per year.  The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
