Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations the Sr. LVN is responsible for monitoring staff and performing associated nursing services. This requires direct nursing care, medication administration as outlined by program protocol, patient flow coordination, training and monitoring staff. Interact with staff, patients, faculty and residents to maximize patient care, patient and physician satisfaction. Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordination and monitor; work in collaboration with Director of Clinical Operations on adjust staffing on a daily basis to maintain efficient operations; ensure JCAHO standards are maintained at all times; and ensure maintenance of facility. The Sr. LVN is responsible for participating in Quality Assurance process and will be expected to maintain professional standards at all times.
Salary Range: $34.61 - $45.66 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Current California LVN license
BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
I. V certification
Excellent blood withdrawal skills
Experience working with neurological patient population
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients
Working knowledge of abnormal laboratory values
Ability to recognize and intervene in emergency situations.
Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform clinical procedures and physical examinations.
Ability to effectively elicit pertinent clinical information such as presenting complaints from patients and referring professional, and make appropriate assignments based on established guidelines.
Ability to accept direction from administration and act promptly
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators
Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion.
Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and responds to changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference and hostility.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment.
Preferred:
Spanish speaking skills
Working knowledge of outpatient practice operations
Working knowledge of UC patient registration system, appointment scheduling system and order entry system.
