Discovery Senior Living is looking for a Director of Facility Operations to join our community at Conservatory at North Austin.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, security and mechanical assets of the Community.
  • Responsible for the execution of all housekeeping, and laundry services throughout the community in accordance with established guidelines in community policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for the total facility operations and maintenance of the campus.
  • Supervises the maintenance of Community buildings to the high standards of construction.
  • Develops vendor relationships and negotiates contracts for maintenance services when appropriate. 
  • Conducts inspections on apartments prior to occupancy.
  • Manages and participates in the after-hours OnCall schedule for maintenance emergencies.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
  • Plans, organizes, develops and leads the overall housekeeping/laundry operations in accordance with policy.
  • Reviews monthly financial statements and implements plans of action for deficiencies.
  • Processes and submits monthly expenses and budget data timely.
  • Completes team member staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensures maintenance golfcart is maintained & in good working condition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Technical degree in related field.
  • Four years maintenance supervision/administration required. Senior Living experience highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of machinery, tools, repair techniques, plumbing and related repair.
  • Experience with HVAC (certification required), basic application troubleshooting & repair, electrical & plumbing systems, phone systems, fire panels, elevator systems, IT and theater equipment, emergency response systems, etc.
  • Experience with disaster preparedness and fire/safety drills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Outlook, and Direct Supply TELS Maintenance platform.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, multi-task and supervise a team of 8 direct-reports.
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well.
