GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for gathering and reporting field employee relation's information through research, reporting and analysis to enhance service to field employees, provide information to field operation's management and minimize risk to the Company. Audits field ER processes and procedures and makes recommendations to the Employee Relations Senior Manager to improve service and support. Assist the Field ER team during peak periods and as needed with telephone and case-load support.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Creates and manages reporting through Applix and Lawson to support Field ER.
  • Provides support of the Applix application and reporting tool.
  • Assists the Senior Manager in coordinating work flow based on Applix reporting.
  • Provides up to date information and research to team on the latest case law in human resources.
  • Analyzes trends based on reporting and makes recommendations to Senior Manager.
  • Supports Field ER team as a back-up coach during peak periods, vacations, etc. 
  • Coordinates scheduling for Senior Manager.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Able to identify trends and make recommendations to improve processes.
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Strong computer skills including call-tracking software, excel and access.
  • Knowledge and shared belief of Dollar General culture.
  • Able to collaborate with different type of people and build consensus.
  • Good understanding of retail and corporate operations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience in working in a human resources environment.
  • Basic understanding of employee law, regulations and policies and application to Dollar General.
Qualifications:

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

  • Minimum two years college; college degree preferred.
  • 1-2 year's experience in human resources, employee relations, or in the legal field preferred.
